1. MEMBER CARE FOUNDATIONS COURSE

YWAM successfully completed its three week Missionary Care Foundations Course in Malawi on 24 September, graduating a total of 17 students of 11 nationalities.  The students came from 11 different locations serving the missionaries of 7 nations in the three regions of Africa.  They trained 13 African missionaries along with 3 Westerners and 1 Brazilian in the skills needed for caring for their missionaries. The inclusion of missionaries from other organizations and a variety of expertise added to the richness of discussions and interactions. Teaching, table discussion groups, dramas, and practices all contributed to the energy, fun, and effectiveness of the course.

Besides practicing many member care skills, each student wrote a final member care plan focusing on the top 3-5 identified needs in their location and specifically how they could begin to practically address those issues over the next year. Each action step included target dates to help students and staff to track graduates’ progress.  The MCFC staff were delighted to review the plans and are already following up on the graduates’ implementation.  The staff are rejoicing in launching  17 member care workers to begin caring for God’s missionary work force on the African continent.

2. MEMBER CARE EUROPE: NEW WEBSITE

We have taken some time to create a Member Care Europe Website with all the postings I normally send in the email update and put them on the website so they are accessible at all times.

Hopefully, it will be organised so that if you are looking for a retreat or a certain resource that you’ll be able to find it quickly. You’ll also be able to check it periodically to see if there is any new information.

www.membercareeurope.com

Be sure to email if there are events or resources you want me to post there.

Enjoy
