(5) Retreat Centre for sale - France
Geoff & Michelle Morris would really appreciate your prayers into their current situation. Five years ago they left the UK and moved to France, establishing a free place of rest for missionaries in Northern France <www.lereposoir.org> - God has called them onward to South Africa & Geoff, Michelle & their 2 sons, move there Jan 2010. They are looking for someone who is called to missionary care to whom they can hand on the baton for Le Reposoir. Such a couple or family would be needed to host missionary guests as well as maintain the four buildings and grounds. Knowing French at some level would likely be necessary. Le Reposoir is for sale or rent. You may know of someone that may be looking for such an opportunity or looking for a ministry opportunity in Brittany, Northern France. If you are interested, please contact Geoff and Michelle Morris at email@example.com.
(6) Working from a Place of Rest, book launch - UK
You are warmly invited to join us for the launch of Tony Horsfall’s new book Working from a Place of Rest is written with those involved in full-time ministry in mind, whether at home or in a cross-cultural context. It looks at the story of Jesus and the Samaritan villagers in John 4, and uses his example as a pattern for sustaining ministry in the frantic world of the twenty first century.
Tony Horsfall is a graduate of London School of Theology, worked with OMF in East Malaysia for a number of years, before leading a church in West Yorkshire. He then headed up the EQUIP training programme at Bawtry Hall (Doncaster), and now works as a freelance trainer for his own ministry, Charis Training. He regularly leads retreats for mission personnel and church leaders, and serves as Pastoral Carer for MAF International (Africa Region). Tony will share his reasons for writing the book, and reflect on what it means ‘to work from a place of rest’.
The afternoon will be hosted by Dr Debbie Hawker, a clinical psychologist and member care specialist at InterHealth. Debbie will be sharing thoughts from her foreword on why this is such an important issue in mission and the church today. Copies of Working from a place of rest will be available for purchase on the day at specially discounted prices.

New Tribes Mission is hosting a Peer to Peer CID workshop with Dr. Jerry Reddix, of Member Care International, on January 11-14 2010, at their Headquarters in Sanford, Florida.
Dr. Reddix is committed to seeing effective cross-cultural ministry for those who have yet to hear and respond to the Love of Jesus. He has demonstrated that commitment by encouraging, training and providing spiritual, emotional and relational care to individuals and organisations working in more than 30 countries. He is a consultant to denominations and to agencies, often traveling to overseas locations to provide training and to better understand reality on the ground. Jerry received his psychological and theological training at Biola University, graduating with a doctorate in clinical psychology in 1989. He worked as a licensed marriage and family therapist from 1986, providing a wide range of counselling services as well as training counsellors and pastoral caregivers. In 1995, Jerry left private practice to become a full-time member care provider with Member Care International, and has been fully engaged since that time.

(9) ELIM Renewal Retreats for Missionaries & Pastors - USA
2010 Dates are: June 6-11, June 17-22, June 25-30, Aug 28-Sept 2, Sept 10-17, Sept 21-26, Nov 7-12, and Nov 14-19
ELIM Retreats, a ministry of Barnabas International, will offer 8 renewal retreats for missionaries and pastors in the States in 2010. These are renewal retreats for missionary and pastoral singles and couples (no children). They are 6 days in length. Participants must attend the entire Retreat.
Six of the Retreats are held on a 1400 acre property 2.5 hours north of Detroit, Michigan, on Lake Huron. Two Retreats will be held at the Eagle Center House in Eagle, Wisconsin www.eagle-house.com.
The retreats are low key but intentional times of spiritual renewal, recovery and revival for international global workers and for full time local church pastors. The focus is deepening in a love relationship with Jesus Christ. Quiet study times are oriented towards Scriptural themes that emphasise spiritual formation and personal debriefing of where we really are in terms of spiritual growth. The Retreats are not meant to provide deep psychological counselling, but preventive pastoral care, and physical, emotional and spiritual renewal. The Retreats should not be construed as a “vacation”, but a quiet and intentional time of hearing again the “still small voice.”
COST: $160.00 per person registration fee. Scholarships available.
I apologise that this update is so late. I ended the last quarter of 2009 with too much to do with too little time or resources. We’re looking at some new ways to keep kinds of updates more regular. Be sure you are also connected to the Global Member Care Network <www.globalmembercare.org> MEMBER CARE EUROPE is an interagency affiliation of colleagues with member care responsibility and is a network of the European EMA (EEMA). Our purpose is to help provide and develop member care resources.
