Last month reminded us all that disaster can strike at any time in any place. With earthquakes in Japan and New Zealand, it's not always just the developing world that needs help and support from outside. Some mission organisations and individuals have found themselves dealing with issues they never thought possible. Shortly after the Japan earthquake, InterHealth issued recommendations for those living or working in the affected areas. Stateside personnel need "member care"!
I'm convinced that one of the most underserved populations of people in Great Commission work are Stateside missions workers. That could include missions pastors, those working in the missions side of denominational leadership; those working in missions agencies as administrative workers; personnel and recruitment people, agency leadership, tech specialists, missionary educators and candidate trainers, linguistics specialists etc.

YWAM Nexia Member Care Consultation & Training - Banff, Alberta, Canada - June 5-10th, 2011
YWAM Nexia is hosting a Member Care Consultation and Training in Banff from June 5th to 10th, 2011. It begins with a 3-day Consultation to share what is being done in Canada in member care within YWAM and in other organizations, to assess member care needs at your ministry location, and to share ideas for sharing of resources and moving forward in member care in Canada. It will be followed by a 2-day Training to learn more in-depth concepts and tools for handling member care at your location. The medium will be teaching, interviewing, small group workgroups and discussions.
